What is Taekwon-Do
Taekwon Do is a Foot "Tae" and Hand "Kwon" style martial art created by General Choi Hong Hi ;
There is an increased emphasis on the traditional core values and protocol;
It is a sport which encourages students to participate in positive controlled and fun competition to challenge their self defense skills and confirm their confidence. During these events some of the things they will learn are comradery (spirit of friendship and community in a group) and, a sense of achievement. They will also have the opportunity to gain many life long friends with competitors from all around the world.
It is a way of life which is known as the “Do”. This involves learning about moral culture as well as living by the Student Oath and Tenets of Taekwon-Do. In learning about the mental and spiritual aspects of Taekwon-Do, we understand the “why”, not only the “how”. This will also enable us to achieve a balanced life and happiness.
The greatest aspect is that it can be a tool for social development which can be powerful in helping to deal with some of our world’s social problems. This is created through developing structure, discipline and self-confidence which carries over into all aspects of a student's life.
Our Programs - Open to individuals wishing to learn self defense in a friendly, safe and fun filled family environment.
Mini Masters; age 5-7 years
Regular Program; 8+ years
